About

Our Objectives

The Association promotes and advances scholarship and informs policy in interprofessional education and collaborative practice worldwide in partnership with patients, colleagues, communities and other organizations.

The Association:

  • Cultivates a common vision for interprofessional education and collaborative practice for health care;
  • Facilitates interaction and exchange between its members;
  • Promotes, collects and disseminates research to improve interprofessional education and collaborative practice;
  • Develops quality indicators and guidelines for interprofessional education and collaborative practice;
  • Informs relevant national and international policies to enhance interprofessional education and collaborative practice.

In support of these objectives, the Association:

  • Recruits individuals and organizations as members;
  • Retains the Journal of Interprofessional Care as its official publication;
  • Organizes and supports international conferences;
  • Maintains an Internet list of experienced members available as a resource to fellow members and others;
  • Facilitates an international exchange between members including students, practitioners, managers, teachers, and policy makers;
  • Maintains a website and publishes an electronic newsletter.
