Board of Directors
- A Board of Directors comprising up to fifteen members, two each from the five continents, will conduct the business of the Association. Nominations will be made electronically with each Association member having one vote again electronically.
- Student members worldwide will form a separate, single electorate to nominate and elect three Board Members electronically…
- Two Board Members will be elected at Large.
- All Board Members will serve for three years.
- Vacancies arising during a term of office will be offered to the runner up in the relevant category at the last election.
Board and Officers – first-time election:
- The first Board of the Association will be elected for a four-year term and may be re-elected for a second three-year term. This term will cover the first international meeting to be co-sponsored by the Association in the UK, 2006, and extend to the second international meeting.
- The Board will elect the Executive Committee for staggered terms accordingly.
Functions of the Board of Directors
The Board will:
- Transact business on behalf of the Association between General Meetings;
- Draw up annual financial and business plans;
- Formulate policies;
- Prioritize and implement those policies;
- Plan meetings of the Association with local committees accountable to it;
- Appoint individuals to serve on an Election Committee to conduct Board elections;
- Involve Association members in projects, committees and task forces as appropriate;
- Set membership fees;
- Arrange for the collection of fees annually;
- Arrange publicity and marketing of the Association and its work.
Executive Committee
The President, Secretary, and Treasurer, will comprise the Executive Committee (EC) of the Board of Directors, with powers to co-opt. The EC will assume leadership in moving forward the work of Association. The form and frequency of its meetings (include electronic meetings) will be determined by the EC as indicated in consultation with the Board
Sub-committees
This section will include a list of membership of each subcommittee along with the contact details for the chair, and a description of the sub-committee remit.
